Pool Renovation prices on the Sunshine Coast
This page sets no price band: no government source states what a pool renovation costs on the Sunshine Coast, and a figure from a sales page would be the seller's number, not yours. It shows where Queensland's rules attach cost or paperwork to a job, and the fees a government body or council sets.

Type the value of your pool renovation job, including materials, labour and GST, and the Queensland and Sunshine Coast Council rules that apply at that value are highlighted. Each line is the regulator's or council's own rule, with the page it comes from and the date it was read. Every rule is listed below whether or not you type anything. It sets no price: what a job costs is for a contractor's written quote.

This fills in the enquiry form below; nothing is sent until you submit it. Your details are handled under this site's Privacy Policy.
This lists each source's own lines as read; it is not legal advice, and it sets no price. The value that counts is the value of the work, including materials, labour and GST. Rules marked as applying to plumbing, drainage, gas fitting or electrical work apply at any value, whatever the job's total.
What changes a quote
The pool type comes first: a concrete pool's interior finish, tiling and coping sit under one QBCC licence class, and a fibreglass shell's maintenance and repair sit under another. The extent of the work is second, because a full interior resurface and retile is a bigger job than a coping repair or a spot tile fix. Equipment bundled into the job is third: a pump, filter, heater or light swapped alongside a resurface needs a licensed electrician for the electrical side, and plumbing, drainage and gas fitting need a QBCC licence at any value. The fence is fourth: if the renovation touches it, or the property is being sold or leased, a pool safety inspection and certificate may be part of the job. Site access is last, and on a canal or lake-front lot so is keeping the backwash out of the waterway.
Fees a government body sets
The checker below lists each Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Shire Council and Unitywater line with its source and read date, banded by the value of the work where the source bands it. Sunshine Coast Council charges A$590 for a pool fence safety inspection and certificate and A$260 for a re-inspection, and A$550 for a pool fence exemption. An owner doing the work needs a QBCC owner-builder permit if the estimate is more than A$11,000 including labour and materials. No source read for this site sets a price for the renovation itself, so ask the provider for a written quote and what it assumes.
