Pool Renovation in Pelican Waters
Sunshine Coast Council's page on constructed coastal lakes and locks lists Pelican Waters North among the lakes it covers. A pool on a lot beside such a lake drains toward council-managed water, and the council says pool backwash and run-off can damage revetment walls and asks residents to check the current requirements.

Pool Renovation around Pelican Waters
Pelican Waters is the page where the water is a lake rather than a canal. The council lists Pelican Waters North on its constructed coastal lakes page, a different list from the one that names the canal systems. This page does not say that Pelican Waters belongs to any wider area, because no source read for this site does.
Swimming pool backwash and pool run-off can cause major beach erosion and damage to revetment walls, and the council says residents must contact its Customer Contact Centre for the current requirements for discharging pool backwash. For a lake-front pool the practical step is the same as on a canal: ask the provider where the water goes, and ring the council first.

Permits and Sunshine Coast Council rules
Whether a pool renovation here needs a building approval is for a building certifier to say. Under the Building Regulation 2021, repairs, maintenance or alterations to an existing structure are generally self-assessable, unless they change its floor area or height, affect a structural component or affect its fire safety system, and alterations to the fencing of a regulated pool are carved out of that.
